COURSE OPENS: January 5, 2026
This professional learning course introduces college faculty to the fundamental principles and practices of the Flipped Classroom model. Participants will explore how flipping the classroom shifts content delivery outside of class time and transforms in-class sessions into active learning environments. The course begins with an overview of the Flipped Classroom approach, including its pedagogical foundations and benefits for diverse learners. Next, participants will examine key technologies and evidence-based teaching strategies (EBTs) that support flipped instruction, from video tools to low-barrier engagement techniques. The third module brings theory into practice with real-world examples and practical tips for designing flipped lessons in a variety of disciplines. The course concludes with a guided reflection on potential applications, anticipated challenges, and next steps for implementation. Faculty will leave with a foundational understanding of how to create more student-centered, active learning environments through flipped teaching.
